Vascular sclerosis is an effective and safe treatment to remove superficial varicose veins and spider veins, especially in the lower extremities (legs and ankles).

Vascular Sclerosis Treatment

Vascular sclerosis can eliminate spider veins and superficial varicose veins quickly, effectively and safely. It corrects the vessels that caused the lesion without damaging the surrounding tissues, without causing scars and without undergoing surgery.

It consists in directly infiltrating the affected vessel with a polidocanol sclerosing substance -0.5% - to coagulate. As it coagulates, the spider veins gradually disappear over one or two weeks.

The complete vascular sclerosis treatment is carried out over several sessions between 15 and 60 minutes. At the end of the session, a compression bandage that must be worn by the patient for 24-48 hours is applied to the affected area. Apart from this, the patient may return to his/her normal activity immediately.

The number of sessions for each patient varies depending on the amount and size of the affected vessels, and the degree of vascular reactivity. The sessions are usually spaced out within a period of 2 months, but the results will be noticed after the first session.
