NAIL
The pathology of the nail is not easy, even for dermatologists. In our department, we have developed the nail unit, with updated scans, tests, and improved surgical techniques to get satisfying results
Obtaining appropriate cultures and using different biopsy techniques depending on the location of the lesion (matrix, lunule, cuticle, free edge) are important for efficacy.
Nail surgery should be non-traumatic. What is usually painful is the use of the local anesthesia.
The extraction of the nail can be proximal or distal to the nail area and requires suitable surgical material and precise methodology. Micrographic Mohs surgery is required for benign and malignant tumors in order to obtain a cure and preserving normal digital skin.
